Value-added Concierge

Some decisions should not be made alone.

Succession, structure, the next generation, the operating business. The firm is at that table because it already sees the whole of the wealth, and because it has no agenda of its own inside it.

Value addedWhat belongs to the generation

What is not about the month. It is about the generation.

Succession is the subject most often postponed and the one least settled by a document. It involves who decides afterwards, under what rule, and what happens to the stake in the business. The firm takes part in the design and the implementation, and it is the part of the work where seeing the whole of the wealth counts most.

Family governance is what gives that a shape: forums, criteria, what gets decided together and what does not get decided at all. Tax structure, in Brazil and cross-border, is the technical consequence of those choices, never the starting point.

Preparing whoever comes next is the most delicate item on the list and the only one with no deadline. It is also where the firm tends to be most useful, because it talks to the next generation without the history a father carries.

Philanthropy comes in when a family decides to turn wealth into legacy, and the firm takes part in the design, the execution and the follow-through. One of those pieces of work is public because the family wanted it to be: the Duda Ermírio de Moraes Awards, created in 2019, recognise entrepreneurs and initiatives with impact, in partnership with Insper and the AC Camargo Cancer Center.

Brain powerAccess to the team

And a family still running the business gets something else.

Among the firm's partners there is someone who has run a company, someone who has raised capital, someone who runs portfolios and someone who closes the books. For a family still at the head of its own operation, that means having that table available whenever it wants: a second reading from people who have been on the other side of the decision.

This is not consulting under contract, with a scope and a deliverable. It is access to the firm's people, who are already inside the subject because they look after the same family's wealth.

StructurePoint of contact

And the firm also takes over the switchboard.

Because it is already inside the family's affairs, it becomes the single point of contact with accountants, lawyers, banks, insurers and service providers, tracking deadlines, paperwork and what is still pending with whom.

The April tax return. The offshore holdings declaration. The FX trade that has to settle. The minutes nobody can find. The provider who does not answer.

None of it is difficult on its own. What wears a person down is being the one who stitches it all together. When that person is the owner of the wealth, the cost is not financial. It is attention.

ScopeThree fronts

What leaves the family's desk.

The client is always the person and the family. In the families the firm serves, those people are also shareholders in industrial groups, and the stake is one of their assets like any other.

Personal and financial

Income tax, the offshore holdings declaration and the interface with the accountant. Consolidating accounts in Brazil and abroad, offshore structures and funds, FX, contracts and payments. Also the assets that are not financial: vehicles, art, aircraft, home and life insurance.

Property

Feasibility analysis, legal advice and diligence, negotiation with developers and brokers, the corporate structure of the acquisition vehicle. And the paperwork that outlives the purchase: title records, contracts, recurring obligations and the file nobody can find when it is needed.

Holdings and stakes

The structure through which the family holds its stakes: shareholding records, shareholders' agreements, dividend resolutions and reorganising the structure when it no longer fits what the family has become. What belongs to the shareholder comes in. The running of the business stays with whoever runs it.

The list does not end here, and it should not. The scope is set with each family.

If a family wants it, the firm builds and runs a team dedicated to it alone.
